Dr. Abisse earned his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Union  College, graduating Magna Cum Laude.  He completed his medical education at the State University of New York at Buffalo.  Subsequently he served his internship and residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he earned the Lawrence Reardon Professionalism award.  He completed cardiology fellowship training at Brown University in Providence,  Rhode Island,  where he was elected to be Chief Cardiology Fellow.

He is Board Certified in Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography and Vascular Ultrasound.  Professional interests include clinical cardiology, valvular heart disease, and echocardiography.

Dr. Abisse is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.  Languages spoken in addition to English include Arabic.
